Getting ROC’d!
We received a last-minute call from our friends that their daughter had the flu and we would all be unable to go on our planned camping trip. We were all sad as we had planned a super fun adventure and had been waiting weeks for it. But we decided we did not want to break up the group and we would postpone this adventure for another time.
But then we were left last minute with a long weekend without plans. And somehow, we got super lucky and found Cochamo. The trail up was a muddy mess but the camp spot at the top and adventures crossing the rivers are at this point likely the most memorable part of our trip. We learned from others at the camp spot that it was called the “Yosemite” of Chile.
At camp this is called “getting Roc’d!” Leaders sign up for cabin activities and if they don’t sign up in time you get “Rest Of Camp”(R-rest, O-of, C-camp). Again, a lesson in last minute surprises can turn into some of the best moments in life and camp! Check out the “carro” we got to take across the river!
